Readers~
I'm in the middle of moving. Yeah, it was time. Living in the ghetto of Atlanta was getting scary. The house got broken into, thank God, nothing was taken. Still, the constant parade of mental homeless having conversations with their imaginary friends as they marched up and down the street in front of the porch where I worked was becoming familiar background noise. I ignored it. One of the five other roommates noticed how immune I was to the crazy going on around me, and said, "Why are you still living here?"
I would have stayed, but the drama living with five other people was starting to make me a little crazy myself. It inspired one of the pieces I'm currently working on, so something good was gained from the experience. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to my debut novel being published around the end of the summer. It's an interesting process working with a publisher.
I have another piece I've started. A futuristic tale that touches on homosexuality as the norm. I stopped after I read a wonderful piece over on Lit. It was the kind of storytelling that makes me humble and I aspire to do better with my own work. One thing I noticed about the piece I read was how well organized it was from start to finish. I'm not a fan of outlining usually, I write by the seat of my pants for the most part, at least during the first draft. This story was a testimonial to outlining, because clearly it was and the story was that much better for it. If you have the time and are looking for a grand scale sci-fi/erotic tale, check out DoctorWolf. You won't be disappointed that's for sure.
As for my own work, I'm working on it. I have a few ideas that I'm going to try to outline and plan a bit more before I get into the meat of the writing. I'll see how outlining works for me. I'll be better able to plan and come up with a publishing schedule as I settle into my new home fully. So, exciting and lots of new going on in my life.
Take Care & Enjoy the Reads,
Simone
